Client: International powertrain developer from USA

Our client develops, manufactures and supplies products for automotive, commercial, aerospace, marine, rail and off-road vehicles; and industrial, agricultural and power-generation applications.

 

Description:

Restructuring of the service areas at the production site.

  

Key results:

  • Achieved efficiency and cost optimization in the indirect areas (especially maintenance, administration, logistics, quality assurance, facility management, purchasing)
  • Identified and realized savings potentials
  • Sustainably reduced costs for affected overhead areas by 25%
  • Improved transparency of operational and financial key figures
  • Achieved centralization and economies of scale in the indirect functions
  • Implemented a sustainable organizational redesign (structural and process organization) in the indirect areas
  • Established multi-project management for the follow-up of the individual measures
  • The initial goal was to identify improvement potential of 2 M €. Jointly with the client, our team identified a potential of >3 M € relating to FTE and further >1 M € relating to purchasing spend
  • Immediately kicked-off implementation due to a clearly defined roadmap and alignment of the management team how to transform to a white administration
  • The project results supported by the workers’ council (traditionally strong in this industry)
